Exciting New Patterns!

Hello there!

It's all go at the moment over at The Eternal Maker. We're busy packing for The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace next week (we'll be at stands L12 and L15). There are fat quarters flying all over the place, wool and buttons stacking up to be packed and, excitingly, some lovely new sewing patterns have just come in too.

I'm sure that if you watched the last series of The Great British Sewing Bee that you will remember Tilly Walnes. Well, in addition to her great blog, Tillly and the Buttons, she has produced some lovely clothes patterns. We have her three of them for you to choose from on the website, here.

Miette is an easy to sew wraparound skirt with large patch pockets and we think, perfect for some creative customisation! Mathilde is an elegant blouse with tuck details that buttons down the back. I always like a bit of clever fastening. Tilly's dress, Coco is a great introduction to sewing with knitted fabrics (something we have been discussing only this week in the shop)! You can either make a Breton top or a longer dress with patch pockets, and frankly, why wouldn't you make both?

As well as ladies' patterns we have some great new sewing patterns for the chaps. Thread Theory is a Canadian design company specialising purely in sewing patterns for menswear, and you might know how hard it is to find some good men's patterns that don't look they were meant for your grandad.

The Newcastle cardigan, seen above is the perfect example - easy to wear and great for customising in different fabrics. We also have in stock a good, basic pair of chino trousers and a gorgeous peacoat from their range, so get thinking what you'd like to make for your chaps!

Anyway, I must get back to the packing. We really hope that you'll come and say hello if you're up in London for the show next week. It's on from Wednesday to Sunday at Alexandra Palace and you will find us at stands L12 and L15.

Happy Stitching!
